Olive started work at fourteen and was fifteen when war was declared. We have her own account of the blitz night of 19/20 November with an epistle of times throughout the war years along with an account of the many shops in Leicester at that time.

Jean reflects on her wartime memories at the age of sixteen and the so-called leisure time of a working teenager during the war years.
